npm CLI “filenymous” (CI/CD)
Share builds, logs and backups from a terminal or a CI/CD pipeline, encrypted peer-to-peer.
See the CLI on npmKey facts
- Install: npx filenymous (npm package “filenymous”, Node.js ≥ 18.17, MIT licence).
- Send: filenymous upload <file...> [--ttl 1h] [--max-downloads 1] [--password X] [--stream] [--expires <ISO date>] [--webhook URL] [--json].
- Receive: filenymous receive "<link or code>" [-o dir] [--password X] [--timeout 30m] [--json].
- Same protocol as the web app: a CLI link opens in any browser, and the other way round.
- Webhook at each step (share.created, download.completed, share.expired, share.failed); --webhook-no-link drops the link from the webhook.
- Exit codes: 0 downloaded, 2 TTL expired with no download, 1 error, 130 interrupted.
Good to know
- The process must keep running until downloads complete (nothing is stored on a server).
- Prefer the FILENYMOUS_PASSWORD variable over --password to keep the password out of shell history and CI logs.
How to
- npx filenymous upload build.zip --ttl 1h --max-downloads 1
- The link is printed on stdout; send it.
- The recipient opens it in a browser or runs filenymous receive.
